What you will do

• Conduct site inspections to determine the cause, origin, and extent of structural damage.
• Analyze failure modes and develop clear, well-supported technical conclusions.
• Produce high-quality technical reports, documentation, and deliverables.
• Manage professional communication with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive project issues to resolution, ensuring deliverables meet customer expectations and applicable standards.
• Collaborate with internal experts while working independently from a home office.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in North Carolina (or eligible by reciprocity).
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or restrictions.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform fieldwork, including roof inspections and working in confined spaces.
• Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally by vehicle or plane.

Nice to have

• Master of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 2+ years of forensic engineering experience.
• Experience serving as an Expert Witness.
