TL;DR

Solution Architect (Software Engineering & Data): Design end-to-end architecture of data ingestion to user-facing applications for compliance systems with an accent on software engineering practices, clean design, testability, and safe delivery. Focus on guiding data engineers towards automation, DevOps, and reliable deployments in regulated environments.

Location: Hybrid in Utrecht (NL). Must be located in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the EU and have the legal right to work in the Netherlands. Unable to consider candidates requiring relocation from another country.

Salary: €5,876 - €8,395 gross monthly (scale 10, 36 hours) + 13th month, 8% holiday allowance, 10% employee benefit budget.

What you will do

Design end-to-end architecture from data ingestion to user-facing applications.
Create abstract views and detailed designs engineers can implement.
Guide teams on software engineering practices in data platforms.
Help select right technical choices over shortcuts.
Serve as sparring partner for engineers and tech leads.

Requirements

Several years of hands-on software engineering experience (e.g., Java, Kotlin, C#).
Experience in data platforms and growing into architectural leadership.
Comfortable in complex, regulated environments.
Able to explain complex ideas in simple English.
Based in Netherlands or EU with legal right to work in Netherlands.

Nice to have

Cloud platforms like Azure.
API-based and event-driven architectures.
CI/CD pipelines and DevOps.
