Location: Bucharest, Romania (Hybrid: 0-2 days remote/week, 3-5 days office/week). Willingness to travel 0-20%.

What you will do

• Evaluate requirements, develop and maintain custom Linux distribution and services for hardware validation.
• Define architectural concepts for software reusability across projects.
• Implement user-space drivers for devices like Ethernet controllers, video serializers, audio interfaces based on specs.
• Analyze and resolve technical issues, provide debugging support through qualification and certification.
• Conduct code reviews, create documentation including user manuals.
• Collaborate with teams and stakeholders, communicate status and ensure milestones are met.

Requirements

• Good English communication skills.
• Extensive Linux expertise (device model, userspace, boot sequence).
• Strong Python programming skills.
• 5+ years experience as software engineer on Linux.
• Proven Automotive experience, preferably infotainment.
• Hands-on with embedded HW (SoCs, serializers, BT/WiFi, amplifiers, A2B).
• Knowledge of low-level concepts (kernel, BSP, I2C, SPI), hardware schematics.
• Source control (Git).

Nice to have

• Experience building custom Linux distros (Yocto).
• Video HW and stack knowledge.
• Bash scripting, Rust, Python web frameworks (Django, FastAPI).
• Embedded hardware architecture, Atlassian tools.
• Bachelor’s in CS or IT.
