Backend Engineer (Cryptography)

TL;DR

Backend Engineer (Cryptography): Driving cryptographic workflows including PKI and HSM functionality for hirify.global Vault’s self-managed offerings with an accent on security, scalability, and enterprise readiness. Focus on leading end-to-end engineering projects, designing distributed systems, and resolving complex technical issues in Golang.

Location: Onsite in Poughkeepsie, Lowell, Rochester, Tucson, Armonk, Raleigh, Bellevue, Atlanta, San Jose, Dallas, Austin, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Georgia, Minnesota, Texas, North Carolina, Arizona, Washington, Massachusetts, California, United States. What you will do

• Lead large-scale initiatives from architecture and design through implementation and issue resolution for on-premise software.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and partners to deliver solutions meeting requirements.
• Review Golang code for design, performance, and best practices; act as technical authority.
• Drive strategic initiatives, resolve complex issues, and improve product stability and reliability.
• Mentor engineers, foster collaboration through code pairing and shared ownership.
• Support production reliability with on-call rotation and champion engineering excellence.

Requirements

• 3+ years engineering experience.
• Professional experience with modern programming languages/frameworks; interest in Golang.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) focusing on scalability, resilience, security.
• Ability to direct work, strategic problem-solving, stakeholder management, critical thinking.
• High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Must have ability to work in US without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with cryptographic systems (PKI, HSMs, TLS, key management, IAM, secure enclaves).
• Experience using hirify.global products (Terraform, Vault, etc.).
• Expert in Go development.
