What you will do

• Manage overall sourcing responsibility for selected mechanical material and component types.
• Negotiate with suppliers to decrease purchase prices and improve commercial terms and conditions.
• Collaborate with R&D and Product Management early in development to influence component and supplier selection.
• Drive proactive risk management and execute 2nd source and 2nd design strategies for mechanical components.
• Monitor market trends, cost drivers, and macro-economic factors to inform business decisions.
• Act as an escalation point for purchasing and contract manufacturers regarding supplier performance.

Requirements

• Degree in Industrial Economy, Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar.
• At least 5 years of purchasing/sourcing experience within international companies.
• Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes, preferably in plastic and sheet metal processing.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.
• Excellent English skills, both written and oral.
• Availability to travel approximately 20-25 days per year.
