What you will do

• Develop and maintain the hirify.global Recipe runtime, including DSL, event pulling, and webhook processing.
• Build, extend, and troubleshoot complex Ruby and Go applications as well as Go microservices.
• Integrate and optimize data storage solutions such as Postgres, S3, DynamoDB, Kafka, and ClickHouse.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, and collaborate with other teams on shared projects.
• Identify system bottlenecks and bugs and devise architectural solutions to improve durability and concurrency.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies, with potential exploration of Rust and Wasm.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building scalable distributed backend applications.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems patterns, algorithms, and network protocols.
• Proficiency in at least two programming languages, with a primary focus on Ruby and Go.
• Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and tools like k8s, Terraform, and ArgoCD.
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Nice to have

• Background in Rust, WASM, or Kotlin/Multiplatform.
• Experience in network programming, application security, or data security.
• Deep knowledge of physical DB design or experience with Docker isolation technologies.
• Experience building data processing pipelines or working with third-party REST APIs at scale.
