TL;DR

Lead Technical Artist (Unreal/Unity): Managing and mentoring a team of technical artists to define and optimize art pipelines for immersive gaming experiences with an accent on technical supervision and R&D. Focus on optimizing content for multiple platforms, developing training curricula, and researching new production workflows.

Location: Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam (Onsite)

What you will do

  • Lead, mentor, and recruit a team of technical artists, managing workloads and overseeing career development.
  • Define art pipelines and serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients on technical issues.
  • Optimize game content for multiple platforms and train art teams on best practices and tool usage.
  • Own and develop the team's training curriculum and supervise other technical artists.
  • Research new workflows and stay current with emerging technologies to improve production efficiency.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with game art pipelines in Unreal, Unity, or comparable modern game engines.
  • Proficiency in DCC software (Maya, 3DS Max, Blender) and intermediate knowledge of Python and DCC scripting.
  • Strong knowledge of revision control systems (Perforce, Git, SVN) and engine scripting using Blueprints.
  • Deep understanding of PBR, lighting, shading, game loops, level streaming, and animation systems.
  • Proven track record of shipping one or more games as a main technical artist.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of procedural modeling or rigging in Houdini.
  • Experience with middleware such as SpeedTree, Simplygon, FaceFX, or Allegorithmic Substance.
  • General IT troubleshooting skills, including DOS batch programming or TCP/IP networking knowledge.
