HPC Technical Post Sales Engineer (HPC)

TL;DR

HPC Applications Support Engineer (HPC): Acting as primary technical link for customers using accelerated compute HPC platform with an accent on training, documentation, and application performance analysis. Focus on developing workshops and tutorials, profiling diverse scientific applications like graph algorithms and weather prediction, and collaborating with engineering teams to shape product features.

Location: Remote, with preference to CST/EST time zones or to relocate to our Minneapolis, MN office. US citizenship required with eligibility to visit US government research facilities. Willingness to travel monthly to quarterly for customer training and meetings.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver technical training materials, workshops, and sessions for HPC users on best practices and performance tuning.
• Create and maintain user documentation, API references, troubleshooting guides, and a self-service knowledge base.
• Perform in-depth profiling and performance analysis on customer HPC applications to identify bottlenecks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve client bugs and runtime errors in collaboration with support engineers.
• Act as customer voice to product and engineering teams, translating usability insights into feature requirements.

Requirements

• US citizenship with eligibility to visit US government research facilities
• Master's or higher in computer science, engineering, physics, or related; relevant experience may substitute
• Proficiency in C, C++, and/or Fortran
• Understanding of parallel programming: MPI, OpenMP, CUDA, or OpenACC
• Familiarity with HPC stack: LLVM compilers, libraries, schedulers (SLURM/PBS), Linux/Unix tools
• Strong technical training, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to manage tasks independently with travel willingness

Nice to have

• Python with NumPy, Pandas
• AI/ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX; optimizing workloads on parallel architectures
