Blockchain Data Wizard, Analyst or Scientist (Web3): Building a canonical data layer for onchain finance by transforming raw blockchain data into standardized financial abstractions with an accent on DeFi protocol reverse engineering and cross-chain schema mapping. Focus on creating high-fidelity metrics, filtering on-chain noise, and designing production-ready data products for institutional users.

Location: Remote (Global). Requirement: Must be able to overlap 2 hours with NYC mornings (10am-12pm ET) Mon-Thurs.

What you will do

• Transform raw on-chain data into unified, intuitive data models across various verticals and protocols.
• Reverse engineer DeFi protocol mechanics by dissecting smart contracts and on-chain events.
• Index new blockchains and design schemas to translate native blockchain data into reliable internal models.
• Develop usable industry metrics such as volumes, fees, and TVL while filtering out noise like wash trades and Sybil attacks.

Requirements

• Mastery of SQL and dbt for writing performant transformations and maintainable data pipelines at scale.
• Strong curiosity and analytical skills to identify data peculiarities and redefine narratives with evidence.
• Product-minded approach to data design, focusing on query patterns, performance, and end-user interaction.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and research protocols with sparse documentation.
• Availability to overlap 2 hours with NYC mornings (10am-12pm ET) Mon-Thurs.
