Software Engineer in Accounting (QA) (Fintech): Contribute across the development lifecycle for legally binding accounting subledgers supporting all asset classes with an accent on test automation, defect management, and quality assurance. Focus on designing comprehensive test strategies, implementing automated tests across all levels, and collaborating with product managers and architects to deliver secure, high-quality solutions.

Location: Hybrid in Warsaw, Poland (2 days in office, 3 days remote). Occasional remote work across Poland (up to 24 days) and international (up to 20 days per year).

What you will do

• Contribute across full development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, implementation, test automation, documentation, and support.
• Identify test conditions, create and maintain test cases and automated tests covering acceptance criteria at all levels (system, integration, unit).
• Identify, document, and track defects; improve automation tools and practices.
• Collaborate with team, Product Managers, Architects; participate in meetings, refinements, and planning.
• Drive innovations, uphold technical excellence, advocate best practices, and align with strategy and customer needs.
• Act as end-user advocate to ensure valuable, high-quality delivery.

Requirements

• Good English skills (upper-intermediate or higher), written and spoken.
• 2+ years software engineering experience; experience in testing complex systems (financial domain a plus).
• Understanding of software engineering fundamentals and development lifecycle.
• Experience in manual and automated testing; ability to design comprehensive test strategies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, trunk-based development, modern engineering tools.
• Readiness to learn in-house tools like APL and work in complex accounting domain with financial instruments.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with functional/object-oriented programming language.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Exploratory testing abilities.
• Software testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB).
• Experience utilizing AI in testing.
• Cloud technologies, especially Microsoft Azure.
