Fire Engineer - Litigation Specialist (Fire Safety)

Location: Based from offices in Dublin, Ireland; Glasgow, London, and Manchester, United Kingdom. Hybrid, part-time, and flexible working arrangements may be discussed.

What you will do

• Conduct site-based fire safety investigations and record evidence.
• Review technical documentation, manuals, maintenance records, standards, regulations, and published guidance.
• Provide clear preliminary verbal and written advice to clients and other stakeholders.
• Prepare concise or detailed illustrated technical reports for litigation and Court proceedings.
• Attend client meetings and meetings with experts appointed by other parties.
• Progress toward presenting expert witness evidence in Court and responding to detailed questioning from a Barrister.

Requirements

• Degree in Fire Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Established professional experience in fire safety engineering and Building Regulations.
• Experience with fire safety design and building construction in residential and commercial buildings.
• Knowledge of relevant fire safety design codes and strong general construction experience.
• Ability to work autonomously, collaborate effectively, manage time, and communicate with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• Client-facing experience and the ability to understand and respond effectively to client needs.

Nice to have

• Experience with cladding issues and site-based work.
• Background in a fire engineering or architectural firm.
• Experience in-house or with design and construction defect matters.
