What you will do
- Collaborate with design, engineering, animation, and production to implement core gameplay vision through camera, controls, and character systems
- Own development of 3Cs including player movement, camera behavior, aiming systems like ADS, and input responsiveness
- Prototype, implement, and iterate control schemes for intuitive, precise feel across scenarios
- Design and tune third-person camera for situational awareness, readability, and cinematic presentation
- Integrate 3Cs with gameplay systems like shooting, cover, traversal, and squad mechanics
- Test, debug, iterate on moment-to-moment gameplay; mentor designers and maintain quality standards
Requirements
- 8+ years in game development focused on player-facing systems, especially camera, controls, character
- Experience shipping at least one AAA title with contributions to player movement, camera, or controls
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and reside within Canada
- Proven ownership of gameplay systems from concept to polish
- Strong understanding of third-person fundamentals: camera framing, input responsiveness, locomotion, combat feel
- Hands-on engine work for implementation, tuning, debugging; excellent cross-discipline collaboration
- Experience mentoring designers
