Location: Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time hours and be based in the United States. This role is not open to visa sponsorship or transfer of visa sponsorship including those on OPT and STEM-EXT OPT, nor is it available to work corp-to-corp.

Total Cash Compensation Range: $130,000 - $200,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure in Databricks and AWS.
• Partner with analytics and product teams to create scalable data models from business needs.
• Develop automated workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and validation.
• Implement best practices in data architecture, security, observability, and governance.
• Lead design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and elevate technical standards.
• Contribute to data strategy by evaluating tools and enhancing performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• 7+ years of data-engineering experience designing large-scale data solutions.
• Deep expertise in SQL and software engineering in Python or Scala for reliable pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, and AWS services.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, ELT/ETL, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, IaC (Terraform), and orchestration (Airflow).
• Experience supporting BI platforms like Looker; ability to communicate complex ideas.

Nice to have

• Experience modernizing data environments to Databricks or AWS.
• Familiarity with data governance and access-control frameworks.
• Exposure to financial or consumer data domains.
• Proven success influencing technical direction across teams.
