What you will do

• Define combustor design requirements based on engine cycle data, thrust requirements, and emissions targets.
• Translate system-level requirements into architecture, including dome design, swirler configuration, and fuel injection concepts.
• Perform preliminary sizing and concept development using first-principles calculations and iterative trade-off studies.
• Analyze flow field behavior, mixing efficiency, flame stability, and turbine temperature management.
• Develop detailed hardware including liners, swirlers, dilution holes, and cooling features.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support CFD studies and correlate predictions with rig and full engine testing.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Thermal Engineering.
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in gas turbine combustion or propulsion system development.
• Deep technical expertise in swirl, fuel atomization, flame stabilization, and liner cooling.
• Demonstrated experience across the full design lifecycle from concept through verification and testing.
• Proven ability to correlate CFD and analytical outputs with physical test data.
• Strong understanding of hot-section manufacturing methods, GD&T, and design-for-manufacture principles.
