What you will do

• Converse with AI models on real-world ASL communication scenarios and theoretical linguistics.
• Verify linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness of model outputs.
• Challenge models on ASL-to-English translation, classifier usage, and non-manual markers.
• Document failure modes and capture reproducible error traces to harden model reasoning.
• Suggest improvements for prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.

Requirements

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL), including grammar, syntax, and regional variations.
• Deep knowledge of Deaf culture and visual linguistics.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Studies, Sign Language Interpreting, or Linguistics.
• RID certification, teaching experience, or community interpreting projects.
• Ability to provide clear, metacognitive communication.
• Must supply a secure computer and high-speed internet.
