QA Automation Engineer

QA Automation Engineer (Backend Testing): Create and maintain test strategies, cases, and automation frameworks for distributed systems using RESTful and event-driven architecture with an accent on Kafka, APIs, and end-to-end testing. Location: Available to candidates based in Romania. Remote or hybrid model with flexibility to work from home.

We build fare collection platforms powering mobile ticketing for public transport in over 250 global locations, partnering with Uber, Moovit, and Transit.

What you will do

• Create detailed test strategies and cases based on customer requirements
• Review and enhance end-to-end testing plans, collaborating with product management
• Maintain and extend test frameworks, integrating with CI/CD pipelines
• Perform manual and automated end-to-end testing to identify and report bugs
• Use AI tools for test scenario generation, edge cases, and productivity gains
• Evaluate new AI tools and share knowledge within the QA team

Requirements

• Based in Romania
• Proficient in Java/Kotlin for automation scripts
• Familiar with Kafka connectors, consumers, and producers
• Strong manual and automated testing skills for complex distributed systems
• Proficient in API testing with Postman and browser tools
• Understanding of CI/CD, BDD, and TDD
• Experience using AI tools like LLMs and copilots for QA

Nice to have

• ISTQB Certification
• Performance and load testing experience
• AWS services familiarity
• Agile methodologies like SCRUM and KANBAN
