Platform Engineer (OpenStack)

TL;DR

Location: Remote (Worldwide). Must be able to reliably work within LATAM (GMT-3) or Philippines (GMT+8) time zones. Not open to candidates based in the United States.

What you will do

• Lead the deployment, configuration, and management of multiple OpenStack private cloud platforms across various datacenters.
• Implement high availability, scaling, and resiliency best practices across the cloud environment.
• Design and build fully automated, repeatable OpenStack deployment pipelines with a focus on reproducibility.
• Create modular, reusable automation playbooks, roles, and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning.
• Perform upgrades, patches, and maintenance of OpenStack clusters ensuring minimal downtime.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices using Ansible, Terraform, and Git-based workflows.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in production-grade OpenStack environments (deployment, administration, troubleshooting).
• 5+ years in platform operations, cloud, or infrastructure engineering.
• Deep understanding of OpenStack architecture and virtualization technologies such as KVM, QEMU, or VMware.
• Strong practical knowledge of L2/L3 networking, VLANs, routing, switching, and SDN plugins (OpenStack Neutron).
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Fluent English communication skills for a globally distributed team.
