Senior Software Developer (Defence)

TL;DR

Senior Software Developer (Java/Angular): Developing and maintaining the communication layer (chat area) for mission-critical defence applications used by NATO forces with an accent on full-stack implementation and system optimization. Focus on leading the design of new features, troubleshooting complex issues in a large-scale codebase, and ensuring high code quality through rigorous reviews.

Location: Hybrid (Bucharest, Romania). Candidate must have lived in a NATO and/or EU country for the past seven years and be able to present a clean criminal record.

What you will do

• Perform full-stack development of software applications using Java, TypeScript, and Angular.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and resolve complex problems within a large-scale existing codebase.
• Lead the design and implementation of new features in collaboration with Domain Experts and UX Engineers.
• Ensure high code quality through regular design and code inspections of colleagues' work.
• Participate in build and configuration management using Gradle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–5+ years of experience with Angular, TypeScript, and Java on full-stack applications.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including clean code, testing, and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of or interest in Gradle and build configuration management.
• Fluency in English for working in an international environment.
• Must have lived in a NATO/EU country for the last 7 years and have a clean criminal record.
