What you will do

• Enhance the core React Native codebase for the Sportsbook app, focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Profile and optimize app startup and runtime performance across the React Native stack
• Build and maintain shared frameworks, tooling, libraries, and components for feature teams
• Improve developer experience through better tooling, documentation, CI reliability, and build performance
• Contribute to technical design discussions and lead incremental improvements aligned with priorities
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and join on-call rota for incident response

Requirements

• Must be located in or able to work hybrid from Edinburgh
• Significant experience delivering production React Native applications (or strong React skills with mobile interest)
• Strong TypeScript skills and understanding of React patterns, architecture, and scalable code practices
• Practical experience profiling and improving React Native performance (startup, rendering, memory, etc.)
• Experience with React Native native modules/bridging; Android (Kotlin/Java) and/or iOS (Swift) a plus
• Familiarity with mobile best practices, testing, CI/CD, and Agile team collaboration

• Ability to contribute to technical designs, take end-to-end ownership, mentor engineers, and spread best practices
