Senior Engineer – Oracle – VA LGY (Oracle): Develops and maintains database solutions supporting mission-critical applications for the Department of Veterans Affairs Loan Guaranty program with an accent on PL/SQL stored procedures, packages, and complex SQL queries. Focus on diagnosing data issues, optimizing database performance, designing queries using analytic functions and CTEs, and executing comprehensive test plans.

Location: 100% Remote (US-based). Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Salary: $80,000 – $110,000

What you will do

• Develop and maintain PL/SQL procedures, packages, and complex SQL queries in Oracle databases.
• Diagnose, analyze, and resolve data quality and integrity issues in LGY systems.
• Design and execute complex queries using analytic functions, CTEs, and advanced SQL constructs.
• Create and execute test plans to validate database logic, data transformations, and integrations.
• Analyze and optimize database performance for efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot issues and support application functionality using tools like TOAD or Oracle SQL Developer.
• Document processes and prepare solution options for technical challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree + 6 years relevant experience (or equivalent with Associate’s +8 or high school +10).
• Strong experience with complex SQL and PL/SQL in Oracle databases.
• Experience diagnosing complex data issues in enterprise systems.
• Experience designing and executing test plans for database logic and validation.
• Strong understanding of analytic SQL functions and CTEs.
• Experience with TOAD or Oracle SQL Developer.
• Excellent communication skills, analytical abilities, and adaptability in fast-paced environment.
• Must be eligible for Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate or Professional certification.
• Existing Public Trust clearance.
• Experience with federal government or VA systems.
• Work in large enterprise data environments.
• Familiarity with mortgage or financial services systems.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
