Software Engineer (Applied AI)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Applied AI): Drive development, integration, and deployment of AI/ML-powered capabilities for defense and critical industrial products with an accent on productization in adversarial, edge-deployed environments. Focus on building robust, interpretable models, rapid prototyping, and translating research into production software.

Location: Hybrid onsite in San Francisco office (minimum 2 days per week, 2-4 preferred); 10-20% travel (mostly domestic).

Salary: $150,000 - $170,000

What you will do

• Quickly learn existing codebase, documentation, and unfamiliar subjects to drive development needs.
• Productize AI models for robustness, interpretability, testability, and performance in real-world conditions like adversarial, low-power, GPS-denied, or edge environments.
• Manage time across meetings, execution, learning, and collaboration with teams, customers, and stakeholders.
• Develop prototypes rapidly and bring them to production with minimal oversight.
• Work with high-caliber researchers and engineers to translate advanced AI research into shippable software for defense applications.

Requirements

• BS/MS + 2+ years professional software development experience
• Experience with Python, model serving infrastructure, model lifecycle management
• Experience building, testing, and supporting major systems in production
• Must be self-driven, mission-oriented, and willing to learn rapidly in a high-integrity environment

Nice to have

• Committer to open-source projects
• Experience with AI Agents using LangChain and LangGraph
• Experience with Analog or Digital RF signal processing
• Exposure to Drone or moving targets tracking
• Background in regulated sectors like aerospace, defense, or critical infrastructure
