Service Engineer

TL;DR

Service Engineer (Mechanical Valves): Repair, service, and assembly of flow control valve equipment in workshop with an accent on preventive and predictive maintenance. Focus on troubleshooting mechanical issues, maintaining documentation using computerized systems, and providing on-site support at customer locations.

Location: Based in Seaham, County Durham (onsite, must be within 1 hour drive from workshop). Occasional work at customer sites in UK or overseas.

What you will do

• Perform repair, service, and assembly of valve products and ancillaries following standard procedures.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on hirify.global's valve equipment (Neles/Jamesbury).
• Maintain accurate documentation of all work using computerized systems.
• Provide occasional support at customer sites in UK or overseas.
• Troubleshoot and isolate mechanical problems logically.

Requirements

• Must be based no more than 1 hour from Seaham workshop and have a valid driver’s licence.
• Craft apprentice training in Mechanical Engineering fitting, qualified to Level 3 (BTEC/ONC) or higher.
• 6+ years in service-oriented hands-on fitting/maintenance environment.
• Strong troubleshooting, mechanical aptitude, and computer skills.
• Strong English-speaking communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible for after-hours issues and customer interactions; able to work alone or in a team.

Nice to have

• Experience working with valves.
• Machining experience.
