Data Architect and Strategy (AI): Designing and owning the end-to-end data architecture layer for GenAI application deployments with an accent on lakehouse platforms, data pipelines, and AI-native application stacks. Focus on bridging technical implementation with strategic advisory for Fortune 500 clients, ensuring scalable and defensible data foundations for LLMs.
Location: Hybrid. Must be based in CA, WA, TX, OR, CO, PA, OH, or GA for employees. Independent contractors: preference for East Coast candidates with ability to travel up to 50%.
Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 per year

What you will do
- Design and own the end-to-end data architecture for GenAI deployments, spanning ingestion, transformation, and serving layers.
- Implement and validate data pipelines, schema designs, and data access patterns using Python and FastAPI.
- Translate complex architectural decisions into clear strategic narratives for client leadership.
- Define and enforce data governance, quality, and lineage practices within the delivery environment.
- Partner with client-side data and engineering teams to build capability and ownership of the new architecture.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering or architecture with a track record of deploying production-grade systems.
- Deep familiarity with lakehouse architectures and hands-on experience with Databricks.
- Experience in AI/ML application development and an understanding of how LLMs consume data.
- Strong consulting background with the ability to navigate organizational complexity and build client trust.
- Fluency in Python and comfort operating in cloud-native data environments.
- Employment is restricted to residents of CA, WA, TX, OR, CO, PA, OH, or GA.
