Location: Hybrid (Porto/Matosinhos, Portugal) - 2 days per week in office

What you will do
- Lead, hire, and develop a team of engineers, focusing on their professional growth, wellbeing, and performance.
- Partner with Product and QA to plan and ship features reliably by managing risk and removing obstacles.
- Set the tone for team communication, feedback loops, and accountability while ensuring psychological safety.
- Provide technical guidance on architecture decisions, technical debt, and build-vs-buy trade-offs.
- Translate technical constraints into business outcomes for non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing engineers, including conducting 1:1s and giving developmental feedback.
- Strong technical foundation in C# and .NET Core to maintain technical credibility with the team.
- Product mindset with the ability to advocate for quality and manage scope effectively.
- Ability to create clarity and lead effectively within a growing, ambiguous environment.
- Must be based in or able to work from the Porto (Matosinhos) office 2 days per week.
Nice to have
- Experience with Azure cloud development.
- Familiarity with React or other frontend frameworks.
- Background in financial services or fintech.
