Software Engineer (PHP, JavaScript)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain end-to-end features across the backend (PHP/Symfony) and frontend (Vue 3).
• Extend Sylius/Symfony modules with a focus on strong domain modeling and maintainability.
• Design and maintain APIs for native mobile apps (iOS/Android) and internal systems like Odoo.
• Improve search relevance and performance using Elasticsearch indexing workflows.
• Ensure system quality by implementing automated unit, integration, and API tests.
• Troubleshoot production issues to identify root causes and reduce recurring incidents.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience shipping production web systems end-to-end.
• Solid backend fundamentals in PHP with modern frameworks (Symfony, Laravel) and MySQL.
• Practical experience with TypeScript and Vue 3 component architecture.
• Hands-on experience implementing Elasticsearch in production products.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
• Must be eligible to work in Hong Kong.

Nice to have

• Experience with ERP platforms and e-commerce workflows (inventory, promotions, logistics).
• Expertise in mobile-facing API design, including versioning and backward compatibility.
• Knowledge of AWS and production observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Effective use of AI coding agents to accelerate development without compromising quality.
