Salary: $200,000–$235,000 CAD

What you will do

• Lead technical strategy for platform networking, traffic management, and service-to-service communication across multi-cluster EKS environments.
• Operate resilient service mesh topologies with Istio, including mTLS, ingress/egress policies, and Envoy extensions.
• Define and implement platform standards for HTTP/REST and gRPC APIs, focusing on versioning and SLO baselines.
• Develop automation, tooling, and paved roads using Python and Go to enhance operational safety and developer velocity.
• Manage Infrastructure as Code via Terraform to ensure secure, auditable, and scalable infrastructure.
• Drive technical roadmaps and mentor senior engineers through complex projects and cross-team partnerships.

Requirements

• Must be based in Toronto, Canada and able to work onsite 3 days per week.
• Deep expertise in AWS network fundamentals and large-scale Kubernetes/EKS operations.
• Strong understanding of Istio service mesh and protocol fundamentals (HTTP/REST, gRPC).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex L3–L7 traffic communication issues.
• Proficiency in Python and Golang, along with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Demonstrated leadership in planning and executing complex technical projects end-to-end.
