TL;DR

Software Developer (Data Engineering): Designing and building scalable data pipelines and tooling to support decision-making and analytics with an accent on data modeling, pipeline architecture, and cross-functional collaboration. Focus on building production-level Python services, optimizing data ingestion, and ensuring high-quality datasets for product performance and machine learning.

Location: Must be based in Toronto, Canada; in-office attendance required at least 3 days per week.

Salary: $136,000 - $160,000 CAD

What you will do

  • Build and maintain foundational datasets across product areas, evolving them as use cases expand.
  • Develop scalable data pipelines using Python, Spark, and Airflow to ingest and process data into the data lake.
  • Collaborate with upstream engineering teams to improve data generation and structural integrity.
  • Partner with data scientists and business teams to design clear, usable data models for company-wide decision-making.
  • Contribute to shared data engineering tooling and define consistent development standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience building end-to-end data pipelines.
  • Professional software engineering experience with production-level Python.
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale data processing frameworks like Spark or Flink.
  • Proficiency in SQL, including engines like Presto or Spark SQL.
  • Ability to work across the data stack and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.
