What you will do

• Act as technical owner for compliance and legal applications, leading integrations and system migrations.
• Architect strategies for data migrations and system consolidations during high-stakes M&A activity.
• Design, build, and operate scalable automation tools and AI-enabled solutions for regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Legal, Security, and Compliance teams to implement best-in-class technology platforms.
• Drive the strategic adoption of AI to introduce predictive capabilities and self-service automation.
• Mentor engineers and define standards for code quality, documentation, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Must be based in Toronto, Canada and able to work onsite 3 days per week.
• Proven experience at a Staff or Principal level in scaling application ecosystems.
• Significant domain experience with eDiscovery, data retention, and privacy technologies like GDPR/CCPA.
• Strong cloud-native experience (AWS or GCP) with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in Python or Go for automation and system integration.
• Experience managing enterprise-scale migrations, ideally within a regulated financial industry.

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of communications archiving platforms like Global Relay or Smarsh.
• Prior experience with large-scale M&A system readiness and integrations.
• Expertise in architecting secure, audit-defensible data storage solutions.
