TL;DR

Senior Privacy Engineer (Fintech): Leading privacy architecture reviews and implementing privacy-by-design across technical systems with an accent on regulatory compliance and data stewardship. Focus on guiding the deployment of privacy-enhancing technologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the product lifecycle.

Location: Must be based in New York, NY with at least 3 days per week of in-office attendance

Salary: $146,000 – $220,000 (Based on location zones)

What you will do

  • Conduct detailed privacy architecture reviews to identify risks and recommend technical controls.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Legal teams to embed privacy-by-design from inception to launch.
  • Deploy and manage privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) to align with global regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and advise on evolving global privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
  • Lead initiatives to improve privacy culture and best practices across technical teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in data privacy, security, or privacy engineering.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks including GDPR and CCPA.
  • Hands-on experience with privacy-enhancing technologies and secure data lifecycle practices.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
