What you will do

• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports connected to multiple data sources.
• Write and optimize queries in SQL (DML) within Databricks or Microsoft Synapse environments.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts and pipelines within Databricks or Synapse.
• Author DAX measures and calculations to support reporting logic.
• Design and interpret data models using Entity Relationship Diagrams and normalization principles.
• Support AI/ML data initiatives aligned with VA's evolving data strategy.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of Python development experience in Databricks or Microsoft Synapse.
• 5+ years of SQL (DML) experience in Databricks or Microsoft Synapse.
• 2–5 years building Power BI reports and dashboards across varied data sources.
• Working knowledge of Power BI DAX and data modeling best practices.
• Familiarity with ER diagrams and Codd's normalization rules.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• VA or federal agency experience is a plus.
