TL;DR

Senior Backend Developer (Node.js): Developing and maintaining in-house high-load backend platforms within a microservices architecture with an accent on database optimization, complex API integrations, and system scalability. Focus on debugging complex queries, managing big data structures, and ensuring system reliability through TDD and performance-driven design.

Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. This is an on-site position.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain backend platforms using Node.js and Nest.js.
  • Optimize database performance via query debugging, indexing, and partitioning.
  • Implement complex third-party API integrations and microservices.
  • Manage and scale high-load SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Write clean, testable code using TDD and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial experience with Node.js and Nest.js.
  • Strong background in relational databases, table indexing, and query planning.
  • Deep understanding of microservice architecture and data normalization.
  • Proficiency in REST, GraphQL, and WebSockets.
  • Experience with RabbitMQ, Redis, and GIT.
  • Must have an Intermediate level of English or higher.

Nice to have

  • Experience with TypeScript, Kubernetes, Nats, and CI/CD pipelines.
