TL;DR

Principal DevOps Engineer (Energy): Defining and leading infrastructure automation and deployment architecture for SmartStack and OS7 platforms with an accent on enterprise-level automation frameworks. Focus on designing reusable modular deployment frameworks for Linux-based platforms and integrating secure CI/CD pipelines.

Location: Must be based in Arlington, VA (In-office: 4 days per week)

What you will do

• Define and own enterprise automation architecture using Ansible and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Design reusable and modular deployment frameworks for Linux environments.
• Lead CI/CD integration for versioned software releases and automated pipelines.
• Standardize secure configuration management and system hardening practices.
• Automate system provisioning, patching, service deployment, and rollback mechanisms.
• Mentor engineering staff to elevate automation maturity across the organization.

Requirements

• 12–16 years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, or Platform Engineering.
• Deep expertise in Ansible roles, collections, and dynamic inventory.
• Strong experience with Linux distributions such as RHEL or Ubuntu.
• Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code and configuration management practices.

Nice to have

• Experience in OT, Industrial, or Energy sector environments.
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA).
• Knowledge of IEC 62443 security standards.
• Experience with containerization using Docker or Podman.
• Background in network automation and globally distributed deployment models.
