TL;DR
Director of Software Engineering - Digital Payments (Digital Card Solution): Leading development of a digital-first payment platform for instant card issuance, push provisioning to Apple Pay and Google Pay, secure in-app card display, and tap-to-pay experiences with an accent on product delivery, secure development, and cross-functional leadership. Focus on leading a global 20+ person engineering organization, developing product roadmaps and cloud-based payment solutions, and solving complex technical, operational, and prioritization challenges.
Location: Hybrid in Paris, France, with 3 days per week in the office

What you will do
- Lead a global team of more than 20 developers, QA professionals, and managers delivering the Digital Card Solution.
- Oversee development of a digital-first payment platform supporting instant digital card issuance, push provisioning to Apple Pay and Google Pay, secure in-app card display, and tap-to-pay experiences.
- Coordinate complex projects from inception through delivery with cross-functional stakeholders and the Instant Financial Issuance team.
- Apply Agile Scrum and phase-gate methodologies while improving development processes, time to market, and technical risk management.
- Partner with Product Management and Marketing on product strategies, roadmaps, innovation initiatives, and operational support.
- Coach managers and individual contributors, advise executive leadership on staffing and budgets, and act as a level-three escalation point for customer issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience leading large software teams, 5+ years in software development, and 5+ years in project management.
- Experience leading innovation and improvement in complex development environments and mentoring technology leaders.
- Strong problem-solving, solution design, cross-functional leadership, and global communication skills.
- Expertise in Agile Scrum, with AWS, Java, C++, XML, web services, iOS, and Android experience.
- Fluent French and English required; international travel of up to 5% expected.

- Master’s degree in engineering or an MBA.
- Experience developing cloud-based solutions for banking, payments, tokenization, and digital wallets.
- Experience leading complex software architectures and platforms.
