Platform Database Engineer (MongoDB)

Location: Remote from Argentina or Colombia

What you will do

• Architect, deploy, administer, and optimize MongoDB Atlas and on-premise environments.
• Design high-availability, backup, restore, disaster recovery, and multi-region failover strategies.
• Optimize database performance and query execution for application development teams across the SDLC.
• Build infrastructure-as-code and automation solutions using Terraform, GitOps, CI/CD, and containerized workloads.
• Implement observability and monitoring with Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Prometheus, and MongoDB telemetry.
• Lead database incident response, root cause analysis, security controls, documentation, design reviews, and technical mentoring.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a MongoDB DBA, including 4+ years administering MongoDB Atlas.
• Strong AWS experience with EC2, EKS, CloudWatch, IAM, KMS, VPC, and Lambda.
• Proficiency in Terraform, GitOps, CI/CD automation, Kubernetes, Python, Bash, and Linux administration.
• Experience with Dynatrace, Prometheus, or equivalent observability platforms.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to participate in on-call rotation and incident response.
• Ability to work remotely from Argentina or Colombia; travel requirement is under 10%.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, CDC, and enterprise data integration platforms.
• Familiarity with GitOps practices and infrastructure observability at enterprise scale.
