What you will do

• Develop algorithms for post-training data curation, including instruction-following and preference-based tuning.
• Research end-to-end data optimization strategies to unify pre-training and post-training stages.
• Implement and improve promising ideas from deep learning literature into practical, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to translate research into real-world model performance gains.
• Conduct large-scale experiments using PyTorch to build and validate research prototypes.

Requirements

• Must be able to work on-site in Redwood City, CA, 4 days per week.
• 3+ years of experience in deep learning research.
• Proven track record in post-training algorithms, preference-based tuning (DPO, RLVR), or SFT.
• Strong proficiency in deep learning fundamentals and frameworks, specifically PyTorch.
• Experience with post-training tooling and synthetic data methods.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed data processing systems like Spark or Snowflake.
• Demonstrated experience building and shipping commercial machine learning products.
