Software Engineer II

TL;DR

Software Engineer II: Developing and maintaining large-scale components of hirify.global products with an accent on customer data privacy and protection. Focus on improving code through peer review, pair programming, and knowledge sharing, and using AI to facilitate work.

Location: Must attend the local office in Krakow, Poland for two days a week.

Salary: zł179,000.00-zł269,000.00 annually.

What you will do

• Follow best engineering practices when developing and maintaining hirify.global systems, mainly in the area of customer data privacy and protection.
• Write, test, and maintain code used by millions of people worldwide.
• Continually improve your and your colleagues' code through peer review, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
• Learn and use AI every day as a tool to facilitate your work and ship the new product faster.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in writing commercial backend code.
• Coding skills in at least one of the following programming languages: Ruby, Java, Python.
• Desire to learn other languages, including a basic understanding of front-end technologies.
• Familiarity with relational databases and key-value data stores.
• Good appreciation of application development and testing, refactoring, and agile practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in distributed teams located across the world.

Nice to have

• Experience with modern, highly available, distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Familiarity with Messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, SQS).
• A degree in Computer Science or similar would be considered an asset.
• Experience working in a SaaS Company.
