Mid AI Programmer (Gpp) (Game Development): Implementing and maintaining high-performance gameplay AI features and underlying systems in Unreal Engine with an accent on decision making, combat moveset, and navigation. Focus on translating high-level design concepts into robust, optimized game code and improving the codebase through technical documentation and peer reviews.

Location: Full remote possible (Europe only)

Salary: €50K to 62K

What you will do

• Implement and maintain high-performance gameplay AI features and underlying systems.
• Contribute to team-level technical discussions regarding implementation methods, tools, and workflow.
• Collaborate with designers, animators, and FX artists to implement and fine-tune non-playable characters’ movements and actions.
• Improve the code base by following processes and proactively suggesting improvements.
• Become familiar with the project and the codebase to become the owner of several AI-related topics.

Requirements

• Strong C++ programming expertise.
• Strong competence in Unreal Engine, with hands-on experience in developing and shipping features.
• At least two years of experience as a gameplay programmer during which some AI topics were addressed.

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to multiplayer projects developed in Unreal Engine.
• Advanced knowledge of Unreal Engine’s Gameplay Ability System (GAS).
• Familiarity with Statetrees.
• Experience with profiling tools to identify and fix bottlenecks.
