Frontend Team Lead (Igaming): Designing and building a brand-new frontend engine for cutting-edge casino games with an accent on high-performance rendering and reusable frameworks. Focus on owning architecture, leading a small team, and driving engineering standards from concept to production.

Location: We can hire across Malta, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Poland. If based in Malta, the role will be hybrid. For other locations, the role will initially be fully remote, with the potential to transition to a hybrid setup as our office hubs are established.

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve a brand-new frontend engine.
• Develop the first proof-of-concept game using this engine.
• Build high-performance rendering and animation systems.
• Establish reusable frameworks, standards, and best practices.
• Lead and mentor a small team of engineers.
• Take ownership of the full lifecycle from concept to production.

Requirements

• Strong TypeScript expertise.
• Commercial experience with PixiJS.
• Experience building interactive web applications or game engines.
• Strong understanding of performance optimisation and rendering.
• Proven experience leading engineers (2+ years).
• Experience owning architecture and technical direction.

Nice to have

• Experience in iGaming, casino, or similar performance-heavy environments.
• Experience building reusable frameworks or shared platforms.
• Exposure to CI/CD, automation, or DevOps practices.
• Experience with observability, performance tuning, or optimisation at scale.
• A strong interest in long-term maintainability and system design.
