Web Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineering (AI): Building AI agents, custom products, and advanced automations for B2B companies using Output.ai, an open-source AI workflow framework with an accent on integrating AI into real products. Focus on designing how agent outputs flow into UIs, how background workflows process data, and how users interact with non-deterministic systems.

Location: Remote - North America. Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the country of residence. We are not able to provide employment visa sponsorship at this time.

What you will do

• Build under clients' brands like Lovable, Vercel, Ramp, Airbyte, and Augment, shipping working products in weeks.
• Build AI workflows with Output.ai, orchestrating LLMs, integrating APIs, processing data, and automating complex tasks.
• Integrate AI into real products, designing how agent outputs flow into UIs and how background workflows process data.
• Work directly with clients to understand their product, stack, and goals, participating in technical decisions.

Requirements

• Strong web developer who thinks in systems, cares about domain modeling, data integrity, and clean architecture.
• Full-stack capable, able to build a database-backed feature from migration to deployed UI.
• Pragmatic builder who picks the simplest tool that works and avoids over-engineering.
• Strong in the JavaScript ecosystem, including React and TypeScript, and adapts quickly to different stacks and codebases.
• AI-fluent, understands that AI makes writing code fast and cheap, emphasizing the importance of reading, reviewing, and architecting code.
• Quality-driven, tests own work, thinks about edge cases, and writes maintainable code with attention to performance and accessibility.

Nice to have

• Agency or web studio background where you shipped across multiple clients and domains.
• Experience with CMS platforms (headless or traditional).
• Shipped products end-to-end (not just features within a product).
• Experience integrating LLMs or AI systems into production applications.
• Contributed to or maintained open-source projects.
• Experience with Rails.
