Backend Software Engineer

TL;DR

Backend Software Engineer: Developing and maintaining distributed systems based on a microservice architecture with an accent on real-time processing, storing, and accessing large amounts of data. Focus on architecture of distributed systems and microservice architecture.

Location: Currently accepting applications only from candidates residing in Croatia. Hybrid & remote work options (including paid accommodation & transportation to Zagreb during onboarding for remote employees)

What you will do

• Develop in-house technologies and tools.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Python code.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to those problems.
• Provide expertise and guidance in setting standards, choosing tools and libraries, etc.
• Perform code reviews.

Requirements

• Experience in working with GNU/Linux-based OS.
• Experience with Python, Java, or similar programming language(s).
• B.S. or M.S. degree in a related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience.
• Positive attitude towards teamwork, constant learning, and adapting to new circumstances.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of development using Flask or other Python web frameworks.
• Track record of contributing to open-source projects.
• Knowledge of RabbitMQ or similar MQ systems and asynchronous communication between services.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker/Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL or other SQL databases.
• Knowledge of Influx/TICK stack + Grafana or other system monitoring stack(s).
• Knowledge of Git or similar version control systems.
• Knowledge of the architecture of distributed systems.
