Performance Architect (Igaming)

TL;DR

Performance Architect (Igaming): Taking end-to-end ownership of performance as a first-class architectural concern across the Sportsbook platform with an accent on frontend performance and customer-perceived latency. Focus on identifying performance bottlenecks across infrastructure, networking, cloud and Kubernetes environments, APIs and backend dependencies.

Location: Athens. Hybrid Work From Home (WFH) model, giving you the flexibility of working 3 days in the office (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and 2 days from home.

What you will do

• Define and own the performance architecture for Sportsbook applications, with a primary focus on frontend performance and customer‑perceived latency.
• Establish and maintain performance‑related non‑functional requirements (NFRs) across web, mobile, and platform layers.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Platform Architects, and DevOps to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Define and promote performance measurement standards, tooling, and dashboards.
• Act as a performance ambassador across the organization.

Requirements

• Strong experience with frontend performance engineering in large‑scale, high‑traffic systems.
• Solid understanding of web architectures and modern frontend frameworks, HTTP, networking fundamentals, caching, and CDNs, cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS) and containerized environments (e.g. Kubernetes).
• Proven experience working in architectural or cross‑team technical roles.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice to have

• Previous Sportsbook, iGaming, or real‑time betting systems experience.
• Experience with high‑availability, low‑latency platforms operating at scale.
• Hands‑on experience with performance tooling, observability, and load‑testing frameworks.
