Sportsbook - Performance Architect (iGaming)

Location: Budapest; hybrid model with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home

What you will do

• Define and own performance architecture for Sportsbook applications, with a primary focus on frontend performance and customer-perceived latency.
• Establish performance-related non-functional requirements across web, mobile, and platform layers.
• Drive frontend performance practices covering rendering, hydration, asset loading, caching, CDNs, and Core Web Vitals.
• Partner with architects, DevOps, and engineering teams to identify bottlenecks across infrastructure, networking, cloud, Kubernetes, APIs, and backend dependencies.
• Lead performance analysis, load testing, capacity planning, incident reviews, and root cause analysis.
• Mentor teams and improve performance maturity across the Sportsbook organization.

Requirements

• Strong experience in frontend performance engineering for large-scale, high-traffic systems.
• Solid understanding of web architectures, modern frontend frameworks, HTTP, networking, caching, and CDNs.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and containerized environments such as Kubernetes.
• Experience designing and reviewing systems for performance, scalability, and resilience.
• Experience in architectural or cross-team technical roles, with the ability to influence decisions without direct authority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience collaborating across multiple departments.

• Sportsbook, iGaming, or real-time betting systems experience.
• Experience with high-availability, low-latency platforms operating at scale.
• Hands-on experience with performance tooling, observability, and load-testing frameworks.
