Information Assurance Specialist (Cybersecurity)

TL;DR

Information Assurance Specialist (Cybersecurity): Providing security engineering and IA support for the government’s Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process to maintain ATO/ATC for mission applications with an accent on Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST compliance, and security documentation. Focus on vulnerability management, security control implementation, and maintaining records in XACTA for classified DoD environments.

Location: Must be based in Bethesda, MD (On-site)

What you will do

• Support the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process to maintain Authority to Operate (ATO).
• Design, monitor, and document security controls throughout application lifecycles.
• Perform security design reviews and provide best practice inputs for technical changes.
• Configure and validate secure systems and test security products to detect vulnerabilities.
• Maintain XACTA security records and documentation for security plans, tests, and reports.
• Manage compliance for Privileged User Access (PUA) and Data Transfer Access (DTA).

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph required
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 3-7+ years of experience in Cyber Security/Operations support
• DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification (Security+, CCNA-Security, CySA+, or CND)
• Experience with NIST, FISMA, ICD 503, and DoD 8150.01 compliance
• Experience with XACTA tool and full lifecycle A&A process

Nice to have

• Extensive hands-on experience with Agile software development
• Experience working with cross domain solutions
• Proven experience leading an ATO process
