Azure SQL Database Administrator (Data/Cloud): Designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-scale SQL database environments across on-premises and Azure cloud platforms with an accent on performance tuning, security, and high availability. Focus on managing SQL Server/Azure SQL Managed Instance, executing cloud migrations, and ensuring mission-critical data integrity for government clients.

Location: Hybrid (must be able to work on-site 2 days per week in Washington, DC). Role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a government clearance (Public Trust).

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-scale SQL environments including SQL Server and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Partner with development teams to optimize queries, perform performance tuning, and implement schema changes.
• Ensure database availability, backup, restoration, and disaster recovery for mission-critical systems.
• Manage user access, security, and governance across production databases.
• Execute and support SQL Server migrations to the Azure cloud.
• Produce technical documentation covering system requirements, storage capacity, and performance metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
• 10+ years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator in enterprise environments.
• U.S. Citizenship required for government clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Expert-level proficiency in T-SQL, indexing, and high availability solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and cloud migrations.
