What you will do

• Build a roadmap and drive priorities for your team, based on a mid to long-term vision.
• Manage, mentor, and lead a globally distributed team of 8 engineers, providing frequent feedback and building cohesion.
• Advocate, unblock, and represent the team within the organization.
• Actively participate in the wider Engineering Productivity and Infrastructure management cohorts.
• Participate in our Major Incidents on-call rotation as Incident Commander.
• Identify and implement processes that improve team productivity and software quality.

Requirements

• Experience leading diverse teams of software engineers as a line manager (people manager).
• Experience leading engineering projects that cross engineering teams.
• Experience as a hands-on software engineer and strength in computer science fundamentals to understand the engineering work that is going on in your team.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Superb organizational skills, stakeholder management skills, and project management capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to drive technical vision, operational rigor, and cross-team collaboration.
• A compassionate approach to communication, a good sense of humor, and a genuine curiosity about the success and growth of the people you work with.
