What you will do

• Lead the technical design, prototyping, and implementation of high-quality search and recommendation interfaces.
• Take end-to-end ownership of UX features from initial requirements and system design to production deployment and monitoring.
• Advocate for and evolve shared component libraries and frontend tooling used across multiple global brands.
• Champion data-driven development by instrumenting UX signals and leveraging A/B testing for continuous product improvement.
• Safely integrate AI/ML-enabled features, such as personalization engines and intelligent content generation, into the user experience.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through technical design discussions and code reviews to foster engineering excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Frontend or UX Engineer building production-scale web applications.
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Demonstrated experience in system design and data modelling for complex frontend integrations.
• Ability to drive end-to-end delivery in cross-functional teams with accountability for operational stability.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Rome office as part of the company's flexible work model.

Nice to have

• Proven technical leadership in cross-functional squads or complex multi-tenant platforms.
• Experience defining and improving Core Web Vitals and accessibility standards at scale.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs or predictive models to enhance search and discovery UX.
• Familiarity with typeahead systems, recommendation engines, or similar discovery-focused product patterns.
