TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer, Data Acquisition: Building tools that interact with external health data networks to collect patient information and load it into data stores, with an accent on unifying diverse healthcare data sources. Focus on working with large-scale data using AWS services and RESTful services, ensuring deployment, maintenance, and operation of pipelines and services.

Location: Remote (EST/CST preferred), hybrid work in Boston is possible. Must be based in the US.

Salary: $170,000 - $200,000 a year

Zus is a shared health data platform designed to accelerate healthcare data interoperability.

What you will do

  • Build tools that interact with external health data networks to collect patient information.
  • Load data into the Zus data stores at high volume.
  • Build services used by customers and internal stakeholders to request data.
  • Work on data pipelines that operate on large scale data using a variety of AWS services (Step Functions, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, etc).
  • Work on RESTful services that are used both internally and externally.
  • Deploy, maintain, and operate pipelines and services.

Requirements

  • Experience with operationally stable and cost efficient data pipelines.
  • Experience building backend software in any language (we use mostly Go with a bit of Node).
  • Experience with deployment technologies (Github actions, CodeDeploy, CircleCI), cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef).
  • Comfortable working remotely (EST/CST preferred).
  • Willing to travel for in person collaboration occasionally.
  • Must be based in the US.

Nice to have

  • Experienced in building and running large-scale systems in the cloud.
  • Experienced in building services and APIs used by third-party developers.
  • Knowledgeable about application security.
  • Experienced in working with healthcare data and APIs.
  • Familiar with the FHIR and/or TEFCA standards.
