What you will do

• Take ownership of the platform roadmap and ensure predictable delivery of backend projects.
• Lead backend engineers, manage day-to-day team operations, and support professional growth.
• Contribute to high-level multi-quarter planning in collaboration with Engineering leadership.
• Design and develop scalable, high-load backend solutions and optimize system performance.
• Drive modernization of legacy services and lead technical debt reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with product owners and architects to ensure alignment on priorities and technical standards.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience, including design of distributed systems.
• 2+ years of experience in technical leadership (team lead or senior role leading others).
• Proven track record in planning, estimation, and delivery of complex technical projects.
• Strong understanding of scalability principles and performance optimization.
• English level: B1+ required.
• Must be located in Portugal, Serbia, Spain, or Ukraine.
