Location: Hybrid (Berlin, Germany), must be able to work from the office 2 days per week. Support for relocation to Berlin is available.

What you will do

• Build and scale AI agents capable of reasoning, tool calling, and interacting with internal data systems.
• Develop and maintain RAG pipelines using vector databases and semantic retrieval systems.
• Design and implement evaluation frameworks and safety guardrails for AI model performance and behavior.
• Implement observability, monitoring, and cost-visibility tools for LLM workloads.
• Collaborate with data scientists and platform engineers to integrate AI systems into the broader ML ecosystem.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in production machine learning or backend engineering, particularly with LLMs.
• Proven experience shipping LLM-powered systems or AI agents into production.
• Strong programming proficiency in Python.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS or GCP.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, MLflow, or Kubeflow.
• Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex.
• Experience with PyTorch or Hugging Face.
