TL;DR
Data Scientist (MineStar): Researching, designing, and evolving analytical methodologies for autonomous and staffed mining operations with an accent on developing performance frameworks, metrics, and models. Location: Must be based in Brisbane or Perth, Australia. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do
- Research, design, and validate analytical methodologies for performance tools.
- Develop robust performance frameworks, metrics, and models to support decision-making.
- Translate complex operational challenges into structured, scalable analytical approaches.
- Analyze large-scale datasets to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to refine system requirements.
- Contribute to tool and product enhancements through experimentation and continuous feedback.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in applied mathematics, statistics, and analytical modeling.
- Experience designing metrics, KPIs, and performance frameworks from first principles.
- Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Degree in Math, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, or related technical field (excluding Engineering).
- Must have legal authorization to work in Australia; visa sponsorship is not provided.
- Must be located in or able to commute to Brisbane or Perth.

- Practical experience in mining operations.
- Familiarity with MineStar technology.
